Amy - had yhour milkshake, it was banana/chocolate. Perhaps in another 10 years I will go there again... Nicke lunch with Michael and Kenneth with productive discussion about the So. Illinois art market (compared to that of Chicago, St. Louis and 'out west', as well as some talk about the Little Eygpt art guild and the GEAG (with meeting and xmas party tonight). Is "Carbondale Arts' considered the 'art guild' for Carbondale??? In the studio listening to the sound track from "Frida' - now to paint!! Skip

Ah, but do you do Plein Air????? Kidding of course. However, I will help myself to your milkshake tomorrow - not kidding... Before Christmas is likely out - although I am in my studio most days, but evenings are busy. Just after Christmas, our kids (daughter and husband) both of which are MD's are coming in - and around the middle of January, I will start teaching part time for J Logan. Of course, the Olympics are in Feb and I may or may not go up for those events. However, all that being said, I am flexible and can work most anything out, so when you are ready, let me know. I will send you an update on the mini-meeting tomorrow. Skip

Hi Amy - Just back form Ann Arbor; the Avedon (photographer) exhibit at the Detriot was fantastic - much of it shot in Paris (one of my old haunts...). We stayed with my daughter, also Amy, who is a photographer herself (her link will be on my website soon) which made the exhibition even better (her technical insight). Just as an invite and/or FYI, I am having lunch with Kenneth (? oh oh, forgot his last name) and Michael Waligorski tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 1, at noon at the Steak and Shake in Carbondale. I just read the Gateway East Artist Group newsletter in which there was a glowing review of Michael's help with their website. However, we are meeting because of a shared interest in Plein Air painting (ideas for Southern Illinois as opposed to the St. Louis group) and I wanted to introduce Michael and Ken to each other. If you would like, please join us. You can recognize us by the berets and flowing scarves - sort of a avant garde painterly dress (ha ha) - perhaps it is us who could recognize you. Hope the weekend was a great success for all. Best, Skip Cutting

Hi Amy, Well gotta tell, always coming up with ideas - of course, most of which I am sure that you have already tried. But, I lived in Laguan Beach, California, for some years which at the time was truly an artists colony, and have seen many successfuly and not-so-succussful art endeavors, so it would be great to share. And Robin and I always try to be great supporters of whatever is happening in the local art scene - so the more that is happening, the happier we are... Anyway, maybe after the first of the year, we (and homever else) can get together and share thoughts - any and all would be welcome to come out to our house.. best skip

Hi Amy - just went through and left comments for several artists, and hope to do more in the future. Anyway, good look on the Wine Trail event over Thanksgiving - as I said, I will be out of town but will be attending a phenomenal photo retrospective at the Detroit Institute of Arts this coming weekend. My next event looks like the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancover, Canada, with the Art of the Olympians Olympic artist groups. Best, Skip www.olympianfineart.com
